Just no letup by Ovintiv in Oklahoma’s STACK

Ovintiv Mid-Continent hits 3 Canadian County wells with 3,600 barrels of  oil a day production – Oklahoma Energy Today

 

If you think it’s a misprint that Ovintiv Mid-Continental Inc. has struck more big oil producers in Oklahoma’s STACK, it’s not.

The company has reported yet two more wells on a single pad with production totaling more than 2,100 barrels of oil a day from a site in Kingfisher County.

The Walta 1507 wells, located at 9 15N 7W , a site about 2 miles south of the Kingfisher hospital along highway US 81, are only about 3 miles from a site where Ovintiv brought in 3 single pad wells with more than 3,000 barrels of oil a day production.

One well had production of 1,032 barrels of oil a day and 2,639 Mcf of natural gas following a September 2020 spud date. Drilling finished in December of last year and completion was made in May 2021 from a depth of 18,790 feet in the Mississippian.

The second Walta well had production of 1,098 barrels of oil a day and 1,429 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 18,588 feet. It’s completion was the same date in May.

The STACK will also be targeted for more drilling by Devon Energy in Blaine County. The firm received drilling permits this week for three Edward 25-36-15N-10W wells to be drilled on a single pad at 24 15N 10W, a site about 9 miles northeast of the city of Geary.
Tapstone Energy LLC received permits for two wells in Kingfisher County.
The RITA 27-18-6 #1H will be at 27 18N 6W which is a site about 5 miles northeast of Dover. The Ruth 10-16-6 #4HC will be drilled at 10 16N 6W which is about 6 miles east of Kingfisher.
