New Texas laws signed to overhaul state’s power grid

A pair of bills designed to improve the main power grid in Texas and also reform its operating agency were signed into law this week by Gov. Greg Abbott.

The new laws were created after the disastrous and deadly winter storm that hit Oklahoma and Texas in February. The storm left more than 4,8 million homes and businesses in Texas without electrical power for days.
