Crude oil pushes $68 to $70 for a 2-year high

Crude oil prices opened June with another increase as US crude pushed close to the $68 a barrel price while overseas prices are at $70 and hit a two-year high.

West Texas Intermediate crude for July delivery rose $1.40 to settle at $67.72 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude for August delivery rose 93 cents to finish the day at $70.25 a barrel in ICE Futures Europe. Earlier in the day, Brent crude hit a two-year high as prices rose to $71.25 before settling lower.

July natural gas rose 11 cents to $3.10 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Four Oklahoma energy companies had large gains in Tuesday’s trading with Devon Energy leading the way with a gain of 13.70% on an increase of $3.64 to finish the day at $30.20.

Ovintiv Inc. finished with a 9.29% gain on a $2.48 increase to $29.11. Cypress Environmental Partners LP gained 9.05% on a 19 cent increase to settle at $2.29 per share.

Continental Resources Inc. went up $2.87 for a gain of 8.81% to $35.44.

Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. gained 4.36% on a 26 cent climb to $6.22.
Blueknight Energy Partners LP gained 3% on a 12 cent increase to $4.12.
Chesapeake Energy rose $2.08 for a 3.94% gain to $54.88.
Cimarex Energy Co. went up 42 cents for a 0.62% gain to $68.17.
Enable Midstream Partners LP gained 3.55% as shares rose 30 cents to finish at $8.74.
Gulfport Energy Operating Corp rose 53 cents for a 0.84% gain to $63.53.
Helmerich & Payne Inc. gained 6.48% on a $1.83 jump to $30.06.
LSB Industries Inc. gained 4.13% as shares rose 26 cents to $6.55.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. rose $1.04 for a 2.11% gain to $50.33.
Mammoth Energy Services closed up 6 cents at $3.86 for a gain of 1.58%.
Matrix Service Co. went up 19 cents to $11.09 for a 1.74% gain.
NGL Energy Partners LP gained 3.35% on an 8 cent rise to $2.47.
OGE Energy Corp. lost 0.72% on a 25 cent fall to $34.25.
ONE Gas Inc rose 18 cents for a 0.24% gain to $74.50.
ONEOK Inc. finished up $1.03 for a 1.95% gain to $53.77.
PHX Minerals Inc. settled at $3.01 after a 16 cent rise for a 5.61% gain.
Sandridge Energy Inc. gained 5.46% on a 29 cent increase to $5.60.
Unit Corporation rose 49 cents to settle at $15.50 for a 3.26% gain.
Williams Companies closed up 55 cents for a 2.09% gain to $26.89.

At least one other energy company had a better than 13% gain for the day. The Texas Energy Report showed Marathon Oil Corp. gained 13.63% on an increase of $1.65 to settle at $13.76 for the day.

EOG Resources (EOG) up 4.25 at 84.59 – change 5.29%

ExxonMobil (XOM) up 2.09 at 60.46 – change 3.58%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) up 0.17 at 18.51 – change 0.93%

National Oilwell Varco (NOV) up 0.84 at 16.96 – change 5.21%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) up 2.51 at 28.47 – change 9.67%

Phillips 66 (PSX) up 2.63 at 86.85 – change 3.12%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) up 9.23 at 161.44 – change 6.06%

Valero (VLO) up 1.76 at 82.18 – change 2.19%
