Boil Order issued for Rock A Way tavern water system

Multiple Boil Orders Remain in Effect, See if You're on the List

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality announced Monday it issued a boil order for the Rock A Way Tavern system located in Guthrie after the discovery of E. coli.

Drinking water users were advised to bring the water to a full, rolling boil for at least one minute before using it in food preparation, dishwashing and brushing teeth.

The department stated the order was issued specifically because E.coli was found in the drinking water. It also made it clear that the boil order applied only to Rock A Way Tavern and did not impact any other public water supplies in Guthrie.

Users will be notified when the water is considered safe for human consumption. Federal law requires that consumers be notified when a public water supply exceeds certain maximum contaminant levels and might be harmful to the health of consumers.
