A wind turbine in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, caught on fire on March 13. Firefighters say it burned out on its own without causing brush fires.
Flames engulfed the B83-2.0MW turbine at Avangrid Renewables’ Locust Ridge wind farm. No employees or members of the public were in the vicinity and firefighters were able to limit the fire to one turbine.
