Oil prices fell and energy stocks followed suit on Thursday.
Benchmark US crude oil, West Texas Intermediate for March delivery finished down 44 cents to $5.824 a barrel. It was the first decline in the past 9 days of trading.
Global benchmark Brent crude oil for April delivery dropped 33 cents to $61.14 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
March natural gas slipped as well, falling 4 cents to $2.87 per MMBtu.
Not a good day for Oklahoma energy stocks on Thursday as most suffered losses for the day.
Only a handful of companies saw gains made in the day’s trading.
Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. finished up 5 cents at $6.12 for a gain of just under 1%.
Enable Midstream Partners LP was another one with a gain for the day…nearly 3% higher with a 16 cent increase to $6.09 per share.
Matrix Service Co went up as well—1 cent for a gain of only 0.077% to close at $13.05.
Ovintiv Inc had the biggest gain at 2.29% on a 46 cent increase to $20.55 a share.
The rest of the Oklahoma stocks finished with losses. Blueknight Energy Partners LP fell 2 cents or about 1% to $2.12.
Chesapeake Energy dropped $2.19 or nearly 5% to $42.80.
Cimarex Energy Co closed down 42 cents at $50.11 for a slide of just about 1%.
Continental Resources, Inc. finished at $22.27 with an 83 cent loss or 3.59% drop.
Cypress Environmental Partners LP settled down 10 cents at $3.17 for a 3.06% loss.
Devon Energy Corp lost 2.18% on a 43 cent drop to $19.30.
Gulfport Energy Corporation lost 3.23% and settled at 0.093 cents.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. dropped 94 cents to finish at $27.01 with a 3.36% loss.
LSB Industries, Inc. suffered a loss of 8.24% on a 36 cent drop to $4.01.
Laredo Petroleum Inc lost 5.24% when shares fell $1.77 to $32.02.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. closed down 30 cents at $40.76 for a nearly 1% loss.
Mammoth Energy Services Inc lost nearly 5% on a 21 cent fall to $4.30.
NGL Energy Partners LP fell 8 cents for a 3.28% loss to $2.36.
OGE Energy Corp. dropped 4 cents for a 0.13% loss to $31.66.
ONE Gas Inc fell 38 cents to $73.35 for a half a point loss.
ONEOK, Inc. dropped 47 cents for a 1% loss to $44.28.
PHX Minerals Inc slipped 11 cents to $3.06 for a loss of 3.47%.
SandRidge Energy Inc. lost 3.61% on a 19 cent slide to $5.07.
Williams Companies Inc closed down 53 cents at $22.28 for a loss of 2.32%.
