Xcel wants Colorado customers to pay to add more EV charging

 

Xcel Energy is telling Colorado leaders that if they want more EV chargers on the road in their lofty goal of adding more electric cars to the state, then they’ll have to help pay for the estimated $130 million tab.

The state wants to add 20,000 new residential, commercial and high-speed charging stations to support an estimated 450,000 EVs. The plan would mean another 67 cents per month to a residential customer’s utility bill.
And Xcel Energy thinks that’s only fair.
