How serious is United Airlines about fighting carbon pollution?

United Airlines is so committed to doing something about the carbon emissions made by its jetliners around the world that it is making a multimillion-dollar investment in a new direct-air-capture facility being built in Texas.

The plant is a joint venture of Occidental Petroleum and Rusheen Capital Management, a private-equity firm according to a report in The Atlantic.
