First Tesla trucks in Austin to roll next spring?

Tesla’s Gigafactory Texas, the one that Tulsa came oh so close to landing before becoming a bridesmaid rather than the bride, could be actually producing its electric trucks in May of next year.

Work is proceeding on the site of the $1.1 billion plant under construction at Austin and a recent report indicated the factor could start the Cybertruck’s trial production in the spring of 2021 according to Teslarati.com.

Tesla recently presented its “Travis County Colorado River Project Partner Pre‐Qualification Presentation,” which included a rough timeframe for the upcoming Cybertruck and Semi factory. The presentation, which was posted on the website of the City of Austin and shared by Tesla Motors Club member hridge20, revealed that Giga Texas’ “First Dry-In” is set for December 30, 2020, and its “First Substantial Completion” is scheduled for May 1, 2021.
