ODOT works on priorities for next 25 years

Oklahoma’s Department of Transportation has started planning for its construction projects in the next 25 years and wants to hear from Oklahomans about what they want.

The Department is asking for public input regarding the planning for future projects. It wants to know the transportation priorities of Oklahomans whether it includes passenger rail service, bicycle paths, waterways and even airports.

Starting this week, ODOT opened a website where Oklahomans can offer their suggestions and ideas….www.oklongrangeplan.org.

Those who want to make suggestions and offer comments have until June 23. Results will be used by ODOT in creating a new 25-year planning document,

From June 29 to July 29, the department will hold a more formal public comment period where comments can be offered by email, mail or telephone. Those who want to communicate by email can offer suggestions and comments to: lrtp@odot.org. Letters can also be sent to Matthew Swift, Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Strategic Asset and Performance Management Division, 200 NE 21 St., Oklahoma City, OK 73105.

The State Transportation Commission will vote on the new plan once the comments are received.
