Marathon Oil brings in more wells in Canadian and Garvin Counties

Leadership at Houston’s Marathon Oil Company no doubt are giving thanks over their latest oil finds in Oklahoma’s Canadian and Garvin Counties.

The company filed a completion report this week on a Garvin County well producing 1,431 barrels of oil a day along with 1,927 Mcf of natural gas. Located at 18 3N 4W or about 7 miles southeast of the city of Lindsay, the Newby 0304 1-18sh well had a depth of 17,870 into the Springer formation. Its spud date was in March 2019 and drilling finished in April with completion made in September.

Marathon also completed a two-well pad in Canadian county with combined production of 1,012 barrels of oil a day. The Cheyenne-Arapaho BIA 1307 1-20-7 Wxh wells are located at 20 13N 7W or approximately one-half mile south of the Lucky Star Casino at Concho. The largest of the wells had production of 719 barrels of oil a day along with 2,387 Mcf of gas at a depth of 17,805. The second well produced 293 barrels of oil a day and 1,414 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 18,036 in the Woodford formation.

Both wells had March 2019 spud dates and drilling was finished in April with completions made in August 2019.

Oklahoma City’s Roan Resources reported completions of two Stephens County wells on a single pad located at 29 1N 4W or about 6 miles northeast of Velma. The Zenyatta wells had production of 362 and 567 barrels of oil a day making for a combined production of 929 barrels of oil a day from the Woodford formation.

The 362-barrel a day well had a January 2019 spud date and drilling ended in February with completion made in April at a depth of 20,820 feet.

The largest of the wells had a November 2018 spud date and drilling was finished in January 2019 with completion made in April 2019 at a depth of 19,530 feet.

Fourpoint Energy LLC had more success in its western Oklahoma drilling efforts, reporting on completions of two wells in Ellis County. The largest well had production of 554 barrels of oil a day and 1,022 Mcf a day at a site (11 18N 24W) about 5 miles southeast of Arnett. The second well was located six miles southwest of Arnet at 11 18N 25W and had production of 388 barrels of oil a day and 778 Mcf of natural gas.

Kaiser-Francis Oil company brought in a Love County well with production of 450 barrels of oil and 490 Mcf of natural gas out of the Woodford formation.

EOG Resources filed a report on a McClain County well with production of 319 barrels of oil and 126 Mcf of natural gas from the Mississippian.
