Pipeline operator extends open season to move oil to Cushing

Crude oil pipeline operator Tallgrass Energy, LP in Kansas City has extended its open season as it seeks more commitments to move oil out of Wyoming and Colorado to the Cushing, Oklahoma hub.

Much of the oil in question is coming out of the Powder River Basin that reaches into both states.

The season applies to the company’s Pony Express system and was originally announced Nov. 13, 2018. Now it has been extended to April 14, 2019.

The crude would be moved to refinery destinations along the system. Tallgrass operates its transportation, storage, terminal and water assets in eleven states.
