STACK pooling orders are averaging $2,500 per acre according to NARO

Land and mineral rights owners in Oklahoma’s STACK will get an update on drilling and financial trends as the National Association of Royal Owners holds a STACK town hall on Thursday.

The event will be held at the Chisholm Trail Technology Center near Omega which is located mid-way between Kingfisher and Watonga. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m.

Oklahoma NARO Chapter President Rick Howell will make opening remarks then OK NARO Director Jay Freede will provide a STACK activity report.

“We’ll offer some leasing data and discuss leasing trends,” said Freede in an interview with OK Energy Today. “We’ll also talk about the pooling bonuses that we’ve seen filed with the Corporation Commission. Just kind of a general update.”

He explained that the pooling bonuses for royalty owners in Blaine County have been around $2,500 an acre.

“That’s when people are pooled by the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and they select 3/16 royalty option. That’s what we’ve been finding in the $2,000 to $2.800 range in the STACK counties,” he added.

The highest amount seen in the past six months was $6,000 an acre on a 3/16 pooling order in Canadian County.

While Kingfisher and Blaine county activities indicate they are hotter prospects than Canadian county in the last few weeks, Freede says that’s because Canadian County is a little more mature.

“They had drilling and rigs before they started moving into Blaine and Kingfisher counties,” said Freede.

The Town Hall meeting will also include a presentation on Leasing Essentials and Surface Issues by OK NARO Director Jared Boehs.

The STACK Town Hall will begin with a barbecue meal.
