Legislative committees to explore gross production taxes in Oklahoma

A handful of interim studies by the Oklahoma House of Representatives will pertain  to energy in the state.

The House Energy and Natural Resources committee will meet in late October to consider two studies on oil and gas. They will focus on lateral lines in drilling for oil and gas and an analysis of the state’s reliance on oil and gas tax revenue.

Rep. Terry O’Donnell  requested one study to examine Oklahoma’s increasing economic dependence on the oil and gas industry and how recent tax changes impact state revenue and allocations.
