Key Energy Loses President—-Begins Search for Successor

Houston-based Key Energy Services announced the sudden resignation this week of President and Chief Executive Officer Robert Drummond.

He notified the company on Friday of his designation to resign to pursue another opportunity.

Key Energy, a company with regional offices in El Reno, Oklahoma and operations throughout Oklahoma named current Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Marshall Dodson as interim CEO.

Drummond will continue to stay on Key’s Board of Directors while the compoany engages an executive search firm to find his successor.

He issued a statement indicating his confidence in the team at Key.

“While I have decided to leave the company to pursue another opportunity, I believe Key’s Board of Directors, the management team and the men and women delivering exceptional service to Key’s customers every day will continue to drive the company’s progress in achieving our goals.”

Key’s Chairman of the board, Phillip Norment commented, “Robert has led the company through several challenging years and has postioned Key for success and growth in the future.”
