More STACK Wells Are Hit in the State

 

No letup by Continental Resources in its exploration in Oklahoma’s STACK play as the company reports another successful well around Watonga in Blaine county.

The 914 Boed Moons Half well, 16 15N 12W is located about 4 miles southwest of Watonga. Its spud date was in March 2017 and drilling was finished a month later. Completion was in May as the well started production out of the Mississippian zone.

Marathon Oil also had a well in Blaine County. The Alta Bia, 31 15N 11W is located 3 miles northwest of the community of Greenfield. Its production was 298 Boed and 11,712 Mcf of natural gas.

Marathon also had two successful wells in Canadian County. The Stanley Rother well, apparently named after the martyred Catholic priest who grew up in Okarche was drilled two miles northeast of Piedmont, 27 14N 5W. The other Marathon well, the Wise was drilled 5 miles southwest of Piedmont, 13 13N 6W.
