“He’s a buffoon, but he’s our buffoon.” T-Boone Pickens on Donald Trump.
When it comes to oil and gas exploration, there’s no doubt T-Boone Pickens knows what he’s talking about. When it comes to Presidential politics, the 88-year old billionaire who grew up in the southeastern Oklahoma town of Holdenville has some definite opinions, especially about Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
“I’ll tell ya what’s gonna happen,” he said in an interview this week with OK Energy Today. “Trump’s gonna win! He’s a buffoon, but he’s our buffoon. We can’t have Hillary.”
He’s concerned that if Hillary Clinton is elected, she’ll destroy the energy industry.
“She’s already on record she won’t do any fracking and she doesn’t want any fossil fuels and all. And Trump understands. He does understanding something about energy,” continued Pickens. “We got a good guy advising him. Harold Hamm at Continental Resources.”
But Pickens is surprised at the reaction of Republican leaders who want to shy away from Trump and won’t campaign for him.
“I can’t believe that Republicans—if you got a candidate and he’s the only candidate you got, you don’t have any choice. You’re stuck with him. We’re stuck with Donald Trump, but let’s get him elected. I think he’ll be a good President.”
About those eleven-year old taped vulgar comments that Trump made about women?
“If I was defending him, Okay, he did that—-eleven years ago. Back up and look at Hillary Clinton, who defended the rapist of a 12-year old girl and laughed about it!”
