
Oklahoma’s growth of one rig in the past week in the oil and gas patch was in the Anadarko Basin.
The Baker Hughes Rig Count showed Oklahoma reaching 44 rigs as of this week, one more than the previous week. The gain was in the Ardmore Woodford where the count grew from one active rig to 2. The Arkoma Woodford remained at one rig.
No gains were recorded and no losses either in the Cana Woodford and the Granite Wash. The Cana remained at 20 active rigs and the GW stayed at a count of 17 rigs.
The Mississippian continued for another week with no reported drilling activity, based on the Baker Hughes report.
Elsewhere in the U.S.
Around the nation, the Permian count grew by one to reach 242. The Haynesville continued with a count of 58 rigs and the Eagle Ford saw no change with 43 active rigs.
The Marcellus play remained at 25 and the Williston continued with a count of 28. The count of 12 in the Utica was the same as the prior week. So was the D-J Niobrara with 9 reported rigs.
The Barnett continued another week with one reported rig.
Nationally, the U.S. rig count remains 30 less than the 578 reported a year ago. The decline included a loss of 57 oil rigs but a gain of 21 gas rigs. There was also an increase of 6 miscellaneous rigs. The U.S. count, reported Baker Hughes, increased by one to reach 548 rigs.
