Rig numbers are slipping in Oklahoma

 

Drilling activity across Oklahoma is on a slow decline, according to rig counts released by Baker Hughes.

The Cana Woodford total fell by two to 18 rigs and the Granite Wash count declined by one to 15. The Ardmore Woodford count dropped by one to 3 rigs while the Arkoma Woodford was unchanged and remained at one rig.

Around the country, the Permian Basin rig count declined by one to 278 rigs. The Williston remained at 31. The Eagle Ford increased its count by one to 43 and the Haynesville was unchanged at 33. The Marcellus remained at 24. The Utica total declined by one to 12 rigs.

The D-J Basin stayed at 5 rigs and the Barnett remained at 2. The Mississippian, according to the Baker Hughes rig count, continued for another week with no reported drilling activity.
