Oklahoma Congressman Tom Cole is among those who feels the budget of the Environmental Protection Agency is bloated.
At the same time, the Republican Representative who carries weight as chairman of the U.S. House Appropriations Committee is fighting to save some of the EPA funding for Oklahoma projects from being pared by the Trump administration’s efforts.
One of those projects is the Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Center in Ada where research is carried out into groundwater and soil quality. Cole calls the center the “premier groundwater research facility, not just for the EPA, but arguably, in the United States.
His efforts received the focus of a report by Oklahoma Watch.
