They’re called superload transports….the hauling of heavy equipment needed for the upgrade of the OG&E power plant at Harrah. The equipment is so large and so heavy that Oklahoma County officials became involved because of bridge limits.
There will be at least six such loads being moved 29 miles at a slow rate, according to County Engineer County Engineer Stacey Trumbo. The equipment is part of the upgrade of the Horseshoe Power plant where two gas-fired steam power generators are being replaced. But it’s too large and two wide at 16 feet to transport the equipment on Interstate 40 and I-335.
