Even before the promise of stormy weather this Easter weekend, Oklahoma experienced hot weather in recent days and came within a degree of hitting its first 100-degree day of the year.
” We were so close to starting the summer (English to
Okie translation: spring) off right with a triple-digit or two, but we’ll have to settle with the next best thing,” wrote Climatologist Gary McManus with the Oklahoma Mesonet.
The 99-degree recordings in southwests Oklahoma at Altus and Tipton tied for the 14th-highest temperature ever recorded for an April 13 in the state.
Of course a day later on Monday, Oklahoma was hit with north winds and cooler weather. But what’s coming this weekend? Beside stormy weather, there’s the promise of rain.

In short order, Easter will be wet so watch your Easter Bonnets.
