Three of the nation’s oil and gas plays saw gains in drilling activity in the past week and one was in Oklahoma.
The plays included the Granite Wash in western Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle where the latest Baker Hughes rig count showed a gain of one for a total of 10 active rigs.
The Utica play in Ohio added one to reach 12 rigs and the Haynesville in east Texas and Louisiana grew one for a total of 30 rigs.
The Cana Woodford in Oklahoma remained at 20 rigs while the Ardmore Woodford stayed at 6 and the Arkoma Woodford continued with one rig.
The Barnett play in North Texas stayed at one rig. The D-J Niobrara in Colorado and southern Wyoming was unchanged with 6 rigs. The Eagle Ford remained at 48 and the Mississippi continued for yet another week with no reported drilling activity, based on the Baker Hughes report.
The Permian Basin count fell 3 to 297 and the Williston remained at 33.
