Sen. Lankford says Trump is right—Biden’s rules created an energy emergency in the US

Oklahoma U.S. Sen. James Lankford joined the Trump administration in recent days in taking to the Senate floor to reverse what he labeled as “harmful energy regulations” created by the Biden administration.

He said the regulations put the U.S. in energy emergency and urged solutions to fix it. Lankford, Chair of the Senate Finance Committee Subcommittee on Energy, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure.

“Energy policies should be just common sense conversation. It shouldn’t be political. It should be—what do Americans need? And we should look beyond just today that the lights are on,” said Lankford.

“We should at least look two years in the future and to say what’s about to happen in the country with our electric grid? Anticipate the problems that are coming. Make changes in policy here to make sure we don’t have an emergency there. So let’s declare the American Energy Emergency. Let’s fix it before we have the challenges that are coming in just a few short months.”
