Russia’s agreement of President Trump’s proposal for Russia and Ukraine to stop attack each other’s energy infrastructure for a month sent crude oil prices falling on Tuesday.
Prices dropped about 1% as President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed ways to end the three-year old war in Ukraine.
West Texas Intermediate crude, the U.S. benchmark, fell 68 cents or 1% to settle at $66.90 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude, the global standard, dropped 51 cents or 0.7% to $70.56 a barrel.
Natural gas finished up 4 cents or 1.02% to $4.06.
Oklahoma energy stocks were mostly split in Tuesday’s trading. While Empire Petroleum dropped more than 4%, Unit Corporation had a 2% gain.
