Oklahoma’s Cana Woodford play is one of only two oil and gas plays across the nation to see a gain in drilling activity over the past week.
Based on the weekly rig report from Baker Hughes Co., the Cana’s rig count increased one to a total 22 rigs. The other play to see any gain was the Eagle Ford of south Texas where the count grew one to 49 total rigs.
The Ardmore Woodford in Oklahoma remained at 3 while the Arkoma Woodford continued another week with no reported activity.
The Permian Basin count dropped by on e to 304 rigs. The Williston remained at 33. The Haynesville declined by two to 29 rigs.
The Marcellus remained at 24. The Mississippian had another week of no reported rig activity, according to Baker Hughes.
The D-J Basin remained at 6 rigs and the Barnett play continued another week with a lone active rig. The Utica was unchanged at 11 rigs.
