March tornado count in Oklahoma up to 13

Oklahoma is already up to 13 tornadoes from March 4 .

Oklahoma Climatologist Gary McManus took note in his latest Mesonet newsletter.
“Holy twisters, that’s a lot more than I thought
originally! All weak, thank goodness, but not a good omen for the rest of the spring I’m thinking.”
He says it already puts March into a tie for the fifth-most twisters for March dating back to when accurate records began in 1950. March 2025 is tied with March of 2008. The record number of tornadoes for March in the state is 17, set in 1991.
“And as far as I can tell, March 4 is now the record-holder for most twisters in a singe day during March, again dating back to 1950, edging out March 21, 1991’s 12.”
