Governor credits Oklahoma’s energy growth in landing new Google data center

Gov. Kevin Stitt says it’s because of the state’s energy developments which created one of the most affordable and reliable grids in the nation that companies such as Google are moving to Oklahoma.

It’s what he said in response to Google’s announcement of a $3 billion data center to be built in Stillwater. No timetable for construction was revealed. Google already has a data operation located in Pryor.

“This data center in Stillwater is going to be more focused around AI. So that’s really good for technical degrees and high-tech jobs,” Stitt told reporters this week.
