After a 2% gain on Wednesday, crude oil prices dropped more than 1% on Thursday.
Analysts attributed the fall to a number of things including the risk that tariff wars between the U.S. and China, Mexico and Canada might harm global crude demand. Plus there is the uncertainty over the U.S. proposal for a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
West Texas Intermediate crude dropped $1.13 or 1.7% to $66.55 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude finished down $1.07 or 1.5% to $69.88 a barrel.
Natural gas settled up 0.03 at $4.11 – change 0.66%.
Oklahoma energy stocks were mostly down on Thursday including Vital Energy with a more than 7% loss for the day.
