The Oklahoma Supreme Court is allowing the minutes of a dozen meetings of Oklahoma Corporation Commissioners to be used by Rep. Tom Gann in his lawsuit against the agency.
Chief Justice M. John Kane IV signed the order last week after Gann requested the use of a number of documents in the suit he filed January 15, 2025 as part of his continued efforts to block Commissioner Todd Hiett from voting on rate cases. The suit was a challenge to a recent rate hike approved by the commissioners for Public Service Company of Oklahoma.
In a February 13 filing, Rep. Gann indicated he would not be willing to take part in any settlement conference regarding his lawsuit. He also asked to have Corporation Commission records retained for his case including: a. #117 – 2/10/2022 “Order 723434 Filed – FINAL FINANCING ORDER”

Commissioner Hiett remains under investigation after Rep. Gann and two other Republican legislators filed a complaint against him over sexual abuse and public drunkenness incidents involving the commissioner. They contend Hiett should not be voting on rate cases involving the state’s major utilities because an alleged victim of sexual groping by Hiett at a hotel bar is employed by one of the utilities and makes appearances before the commissioners.
No date has been set for a hearing before the court.
