Rig counts in Oklahoma and other oil and gas states held steady

 

Another report from Baker Hughes shows the nation’s oil and gas rig count continued steady for another week with a reported drop of only one rig compared to the previous week.

The Baker Hughes Rig Report also showed Oklahoma’s count held steady as well, staying at 44 rigs, same as the previous week. It is also more than the 38 rigs reported one year ago.

Nationally, Baker Hughes recorded a decline of one to 582 rigs, including a loss of 2 oil rigs to 477 while the number of gas rigs increased one to 100 rigs. Miscellaneous held at 5 rigs.

Compared to a year ago, the latest count is 43 less than the 625 rigs reported last year. The yearly decline included a drop of 28 oil rigs and d16 gas  rigs while the number of miscellaneous is one higher. The number of US offshore rigs remained at 13.

Texas led all oil and gas producing states with 281 rigs, unchanged from a week ago, followed by New Mexico with 102, unchanged from the previous week. North Dakota continuedd with 34 and Louisiana was unchanged from a count of 30 rigs.

The Red Top Rig Report published in Wichita showed Kansas gained two rigs to reach 30 in the past week. Colorado’s count of 10 rigs was unchanged. Ohio stayed at 10 rigs and Pennsylvania was unchanged from 15 rigs. Utah remained at 11 and West Virginia stayed at 10 whie Wyoming’s count of 18 was a decline of one
