Sen. Markwayne Mullin the next Interior Secretary? It’s speculated, at least in Rolling Stone magazine, that the Oklahoma Republican might be in line for the job.
That or else maybe the position of running the Veterans Affairs Department.
A spokeswoman for the Senator told the Tulsa World there have been no talks with the President-elect.
Should Sen. Mullin get the nod, he would replace former New Mexico U.S. Rep. Deb Haaland who, under the Biden administration, became the first Native American to serve as a cabinet secetary.
Mullin is a Cherokee Nation citizen and a member of the Senate Committees on Indian Affairs, Health, Education, Labor and Pension; Environment and Public Works and Armed Services.
