Ratepayers of Kansas Gas Service, one of the subsidiaries of ONE Gas in Oklahoma will see their monthly utility bills go up after the firm won a rate hike from the Kansas Corporation Commission.
The KCC approved a $35 million rate hike which means the average ratepayers, out of the company’s 650,000 residential customers, will see a monthly increase of $3.83. The company had originally asked for a $58.1 million hike but the total was whittled down during negotiations with the KCC and consumer advocates. The hike takes effect Nov. 1.
