Oklahoma and 22 other states sue to stop Biden administration over methane rule

Oklahoma and 22 other states are asking the U.S. Supreme Court to  block the Biden administration’s effort to cut methane from oil and gas production.

Attorney General Gentner Drummond was among 23 state attorneys general along with Arizona’s GOP-led legislature who are opposed to the implementation of the Environmental Protection Agency rule that requires oil and gas wells to control leaks of planet-warming methane.

According to The Hill, the coalition filed an appeal of a lower court’s decision against their original challenge of the rule.

Beside Oklahoma, the other states include: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming, as well as the Arizona Legislature.
