Crude oil prices fall along with worries about a new war in the Middle East

The fall of crude oil prices on Tuesday result in a day of mixed trading for Oklahoma energy stocks. The decline in oil prices was linked to a seemingly easing of worries about a possible widespread war in the Middle East.

Iran has yet to turn its vocal threats into military action against Israel over the assassination of a Hamas official in Tehran.

West Texas Intermediate crude closed down $1.71 or 2.14% and fell below the $80 a barrel mark it reached this week, settling at $78.35 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude, the global standard, dropped $1.61 or 1.96% and finished at $80.69 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

Tuesday brought another day of mixed trading for Oklahoma energy stocks. While some firms recorded moderate gains, others experienced losses.

Many other energy stocks experienced a down day in trading, according to the Texas Energy Report.
