Crude oil prices and OK energy stocks make another recovery

Not only did crude oil prices climb on Thursday, but so did Oklahoma energy stocks as U.S. jobs data reportedly eased demand concerns.

Prices were buoyed after data showed the number of Americans filing new applications for unemployment benefits fell more than expected last week reported Reuters.

At the same time, the growing spectre of an expanded war in the Middle East helped prices recover from an eight-month low.

US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude rose 96 cents or 1.28% to $76.19 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude, considered the global benchmark, went up 83 cents or 1.06% to reach $79.16 a barrel, still below the $80 mark.

September natural gas rose 2 cents to $2.13 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Oklahoma energy stocks fared well on Thursday with at least one with a 7% gain for the day.

Other energy stocks had a day of gains, according to the Texas Energy Report.

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) up 0.63 at 29.33 – change 2.19%

EOG Resources (EOG) up 3.67 at 126.79 – change 2.98%

Exxon Mobil (XOM) up 2.21 at 117.89 – change 1.91%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) up 0.27 at 21.07 – change 1.29%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) up 0.41 at 27.27 – change 1.52%

NOV Inc. (NOV) up 0.42 at 17.98 – change 2.39%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) up 2.42 at 58.53 – change 4.31%

Phillips 66 (PSX) up 2.52 at 135.41 – change 1.89%

Tellurian Inc. (TELL) down 0.01 at 0.90 – change 0.08%

Valero (VLO) up 3.34 at 151.61 – change 2.25%
