Wednesday’s crude oil prices rose 2%

After recent losses, crude oil prices rebounded Wednesday by nearly 2%, largely because U.S. crude stocks, such as those held at the Cushing Hub in Oklahoma, dropped more than expected.

Plus, there was the impact of a weaker U.S dollar which overshadowed signs of lower economic growth in China, according to Reuters.

Brent, the world benchmark, gained $1.35 or 1.6% and finished at $85.08 a barrel on the ICE Futures Europe. The gains for both came after WTI closed Tuesday at its lowest point since June 21 and Brent finished at its lowest mark since June 14.

August natural gas fell 15 cents to $2.04 per 1,000 cubic feet.

The majority of Oklahoma energy stocks recorded gains in Wednesday’s trading although some firms also had losses including Canoo with a 5% drop and Gulfport Energy down 4%.

Other energy stocks also recorded gains including Tellurian with a 5% jump for the day, according to the Texas Energy Report.
