Stronger dollar sent crude oil prices down on Friday

Crude oil traders have hopes of higher prices as the U.S. trading week opens Monday following a $2 a barrel drop in Friday’s trading.
It was the lowest level for oil since the middle of June, thanks to a strengthened dollar and a possible ceasefire in Gaza.
West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell $2.69 or 3.3% to $80.13 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude finished down $2.48 or 2.9% a barrel to $82.63 on ICE Futures Europe.
August natural gas was flat at $2.13 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks bordered on a mixed day of trading with a narrow majority recording losses. Empire Petroleum had one of the biggest drops at 6%.
