More groups join fight against carbon capture pipeline system in Iowa

More groups, not just environmentalists, are stepping up in opposition to the approval by Iowa regulators for a large carbon dioxide pipeline system in their state.

The Iowa Capital Dispatch reports at least eight requests were filed in the past week with the Iowa Utilities Commission asking it to reconsider the approval for Summit Carbon Solutions to build nearly 700 miles of pipeline to transport captured carbon dioxide from ethanol plants.

It’s believed the formally filed requests are ahead of anticipated lawsuits.
