The Houston company for which 105 Oklahoma Gas and Electric workers helped with power restoration following Hurricane Beryl finally went public with an apology.

But it came after Texas legislators and regulators launched investigations into why the utility company failed in restoring electrical power to nearly 3 million Houston residents.

The apology, which came nearly a week after OGE crews returned home from helping CenterPoint, included a promise from utility executives to do better. Their apology was made before the Public Utility Commission of Texas during a meeting in Austin.

CenterPoint president and CEO Jason Wells told the Commission, ““I want to apologize to our customers for the frustration we caused. We will do better. While we cannot erase the frustrations and difficulties so many of our customers endured, I and my entire leadership team will not make excuses,” reported CNN.
