A second solar plant has become operational for the city of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
It’s a continued effort by the city to eventually power 100% of its operations with renewable energy. The second solar plant means about 50% of the operations are being supplied by the solar power.
“It’s all about Arkansas,” said Pat McCabe, mayor of Hot Springs. “We’re the Natural State and with Hot Springs being a big tourist area, for us being able to lead the way in the state of Arkansas, going 100 percent renewable for our municipal activities is the first step and others will take notice.”
KATV reported the solar plant came about from a partnership between the city and Scenic Hill Solar, Arkansas’ largest solar power developer.
