Conservative think tank critical of attorney behind energy discrimination lawsuit

Conservative think tank Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs pointed out recently the constitutional challenge to a state law banning financial firms from discriminating against the oil and gas industry is also a leading official with the Oklahoma Bar Association.

The OCPA explained that former state Rep. Collin Walke, an Oklahoma City Democrat, is the lead attorney in the lawsuit brought by former Oklahoma Public Employees Association President Don Keenan against State Treasurer Todd Russ.

Through Walke’s efforts, an Oklahoma County District Court Judge last week suspended enforcement of the Energy Discrimination Elimination Act of 2022.

The OCPA pointed out that not only is the state Bar Association a group with a Democratic tilt, but Walke will reportedly play an important role as the OBA determines its path for the future.
