Thursday is National Lineman Appreciation Day and the 300 lineworkers at Oklahoma Gas and Electric are being honored for their work in servicing power lines across Oklahoma and Arkansas.
In announcing its observation of the day, OG&E stated that oftentimes, crews repair power lines damaged by severe weather, leaving their families at home so they can arrive on scene and restore electricity for your families and businesses in potentially dangerous conditions. Electrical work includes inherent risks, regardless of weather, and OG&E’s lineworkers continue to safely provide power to those who need it.
In the past year, OG&E lineworkers have:

- Worked nearly 87,000 hoursof overtime during storm restoration events.
