Crude oil prices make more gains over increased attacks on Russian oil refineries

Crude oil prices rose nearly 2% in Tuesday’s trading after news of more Ukrainian drone attacks on Russia’s third largest refinery. The conflict in the Middle East also added pressure to increased prices.

West Texas Intermediate crude for May settled up $1.44 or 1.7% to $85.15 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. At one point in the trading, WTI reached $85.46 a barrel.

Brent crude for June delivery rose $1.50 or 1.7% at $88.92 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe. It peaked at $89.08 for the day.

April natural gas fell 4 cents to $1.62 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Gains were recorded by most Oklahoma energy stocks including an 8% increase for Empire Petroleum while Mammoth Energy Services dropped 5%.

According to the Texas Energy Report, other energy stocks had a good day of trading.

Kinder Morgan (KMI) unchanged at 18.41 – change 0.00%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) up 0.21 at 28.78 – change 0.73%

NOV Inc. (NOV) up 0.31 at 20.01 – change 1.57%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) up 0.89 at 67.27 – change 1.34%

Phillips 66 (PSX) up 6.15 at 169.49 – change 3.76%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) up 5.48 at 269.44 – change 2.07%

Tellurian Inc. (TELL) down 0.04 at 0.57 – change 5.97%

Valero (VLO) up 4.66 at 177.30 – change 2.69%
