While some states have challenged the federal government’s listing of the lesser prairie chicken under the Endangered Species Act, one private firm is attempting to work with private landowners and oil and gas companies to do a privately financed conservation program.
The issue involves western Oklahoma and reaches into the oil and gas production parts of the Permian Basin reported the Journal Record.
