Gains recorded for crude oil and natural gas

Crude oil prices and natural gas prices made gains in Wednesday’s trading….oil going up as fighting continues in Gaza and gas seeing an increase while there’s talk of a growing oversupply.

West Texas Intermediate crude went up 87 cents or 1.1% to settle at $77.91 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent crude, the global benchmark, gained 69 cents or 0.8% and finished at $83.03 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

 March natural gas rose 19 cents to $1.77 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Wednesday’s trading produced gains for most Oklahoma energy stocks including an 8% jump for Chesapeake Energy and 7% increases for two of them…Gulfport Energy Corp. and Southwestern Energy Company, the firm that recently merged with Chesapeake Energy.

Elsewhere, other energy stocks recorded gains, according to the Texas Energy Report.

Energy Transfer LP (ET) up 0.21 at 14.85 – change 1.43%

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) up 0.20 at 27.63 – change 0.72%

EOG Resources (EOG) up 3.23 at 116.36 – change 2.85%

Exxon Mobil (XOM) up 2.10 at 104.85 – change 2.04%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) up 0.36 at 17.42 – change 2.11%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) up 0.48 at 23.65 – change 2.07%

NOV Inc. (NOV) up 0.14 at 17.27 – change 0.81%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) up 0.91 at 60.47 – change 1.52%

Phillips 66 (PSX) up 2.41 at 143.55 – change 1.70%

Pioneer Natural Resources (PXD) up 4.59 at 233.74 – change 2.00%

Tellurian Inc. (TELL) up 0.03 at 0.85 – change 4.60%

Valero (VLO) up 2.12 at 137.15 – change 1.57%
