Crude oil up about 1% but Oklahoma energy stocks dropped in Monday’s trading—one firm falling 4%.
Oil prices rose about a dollar a barrel as traders and investors are still overly concerned about the Middle East tensions and how they might affect global supplies.
US benchmark, West Texas Intermediate crude actually finished up 50 cents or 0.7% on the New York Mercantile Exchange and settled at $72.78 a barrel, marking a gain for the first time in four trading sessions.
Global benchmark Brent crude also marked its first gain in four sessions, rising 66 cents or 0.9% to finish at $78.22 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Monday brought losses for most Oklahoma energy stocks, including a 4% drop for ONE Gas and a 3% decline for Empire Petroleum Corp.
