Colorado ready to open its first Buc-ee’s store

While Oklahoma remains without a Buc-ee’s store in the state, Colorado is about to open its first in the coming few weeks.

The new travel center will open March 18 in Johnstown off I-25 and County Road 48 or just southeast of Loveland. It is a 74,000 square-foot gas station and plenty of gas pumps—-116 and it will include a dozen electric charging stations for electric vehicles.

The opening comes nearly two years after construction began on the large store. Buc-ee’s, based in Texas, has 48 stations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee and Missouri—-but not Oklahoma.

In addition to the new store opening in Colorado, construction will start soon on a store in Virginia.

“We picked a great partner in the community of Johnstown for our first store in Colorado,” Buc-ee’s Stan Beard said in a statement. “At the foothills of the beautiful Northern Front Range, this Buc-ee’s will introduce all sorts of bikers, hikers, skiers, and campers to the cleanest restrooms, friendliest staff, and freshest food they’ll ever find on a road trip.”
