A report states that Texas broke a record for the amount of electrical power produced through solar generation.

It was on Sunday when more than one third of the electricity on the state’s power grid came from the sun and experts indicated they believe it won’t be long before another solar generation record is set.

KUT in Austin reported that weather conditions on Sunday were ideal for solar power generation and that the Electric Reliabililty Council of Texas (ERCOT) recorded the record at 10:09 a.m. A reported 15,222 megawatts of solar ran over the transmission lines. It was later in the day a record for the share of electricity on the grid from solar power registered 36.11%.
