Summit wants higher rates in Arkansas

Arkansas natural gas supplier Summit Utilities is asking state regulators to approve a rate hike of about 30% for its s40,000 customers in Arkansas.

If approved by the Arkansas Public Service Commission, the increase would boost an average customer’s bill by $18.48 a month. Small commercial customers would see their monthly bill going up an average of $28.

Customers were notified in a recent letter mailed by the Colorado-based utility, explaining that its agreement to buy the Arkansas assets of CenterPoint Energy in 2022 required Summit to submit the rate case reported Arkansas Business.

The request made no mention of the Summit customers who live in Oklahoma.
